Well, the wind blowing in and a Sogard error has put the Brewers in the loss column 2 days in a row. Both losses were only by one run. Junior Guerra has pitched his last 3 starts solidly going 5 innings each time and giving up at most one run. I expect Junior Guerra to continue to perform at the same level as the last 3 starts. On the other hand, Jose Quintana is pitching for the Cubs. Quintana is really a step down in starting pitcher quality when you compare him to the last 2 that the Brewers faced; Darvish and Hendricks. So, Quintana gave up 4 runs to Colorado in his last outing in 5 innings but prior to that Quintana gave up 7 runs in 2.1 innings pitching in Wrigley Field. Yes, Quintana did pitch well against the Brewers if you want to go one outing prior but opened the season giving up 6 runs in 5 innings. So, I think the law of averages comes back to haunt Quintana today and the Brewers rough him up. Aguillar and Shaw are given the day off, but you still have 1. Cain 2. Yelich 3. Braun with an improving Santana in the cleanup spot today. Santana got his first extra base hit yesterday so hopefully that's a sign of good things to come.
