Bumgarner plus money???

Question

What am I missing here? I understand Archer has been awesome lately...but so has Bumgarner and he's been doing it just a tad bit longer wouldn't you say? Archer -140 in what should be a pitchers duel? Strange line...when I see something like this I know I missed something and they know something I don't.

the rays are a far better team than the giants are, the giants cant hit at all, and archer has been filthy lately, damn near unhittable, starters are about even, rays have a huge hitting advantage, bullpens ben good, and the rays are at home. bumgarner should definately be a dog.

I agree, Bumgardner has been a stopper for the Giants, and tuff on the NL in showcase games. Not sure he will have his way here. Archer however, if you watch the highlights, looks like he's doin whatever he wants and toying with hitters w/ wicked stuff.

Looks like a 5-0 shutout win.

Guys I understand all this...and get it. But you have to realize we all know a good amount about baseball and handicapping. The averagae Joe DOES NOT and sees this line and licks their chops and puts their hard-earned pennies on Bumgarner blindly. That is the angle I am talking.

Giants may have a little spark for the team with Pill and Kieschnick.  Huge improvement to the lineup with Pill in for Belt.  Kieschnick has a great bat, even if he is just PHing like last night.  I&#x27;m going to have to look at this more closer but I&#x27;m not dismissing the Giants so fast yet.

Would you guys agree with me here then that the under looks like the play here? 6.5 I have it at, I know that&#39;s tight but these two have shown they are dominant on the mound lately and sf is struggling at the plate. Thoughts?

I don&#x27;t think there&#x27;s much of an angle, lol.  The Giants are losing close games that Bumgarner pitches in and the Rays have been the hottest team in baseball over the last month.  The line is simply what it is because of those factors.

I am on TB first 5 inn. I have the full game line @ TB-165 to -170ish. I think they just flat out set the line too low on this one and are going to pay for it. They may have overestimated the love for Bumgarner, and/or underestimated the knowledge of Archer. Either way the line is moving to try and stem the tide.
