I'm still so pissed off with Casilla's blown save last night, blowing the Giants' lead after the Giants worked hard to come back from being down 2-5 at the mid-point of the game.
And I'm even more pissed off when I looked at the live odds of +758 for San Diego to win the game after Posey's solo HR that put the Giants ahead in the top of the 10th inning.
I already knew that Casilla was extremely shaky and I just wish that I had put a unit right away on the Padres @ +758 odds, man!
In this thread, I want to focus on which closer would be good to fade today, should they come out.
If you have 5 plays fading home-team closers at average odds of, say, +800 each, you'd make money if one of those 5 blows a save.
I'd post a link that has the bullpen/closer rankings, but Covers is anal about links like that, so you'll have to use your own links for the bullpen/closer stats.

Hog_Wild put up an amazing post in a previous thread in which I was bitching about Casilla's blown save, so I wanted to put it here for your perusal.
I'm going to be watching closely the games today and to try to at least bet on both sides of a game when either team has a lead, betting on the team that's behind with + odds.
My thinking is to play BOTH SIDES at + odds ... that way, when there's a blown save, I'd win, no matter what.
Here's Hog_Wild's cool post:

"Most excellent point LC . I Posted in someones Thread last night that had the Good Lord Blessed me with the skills to be a MLB Starting Pitcher, I would be in jail for Assault, or possible Murder. Imagine busting your Arss for 3+ hours, throwing 100+ pitches of 1 or 2 hit ball and in line for a win, only to be forced to hand the ball over to some bonehead Manager , who then hands it over to some gas can Reliever- and it doesn't matter who, because there is NOT ONE DEPENDABLE RELIEVER IN MLB (with the possible exception in NY, but just give them time)- who in a matter of 5 minutes, or 5 pitches, completely 180's EVERYTHING you have succeeded in accomplishing. And it's not something that occasionally happens- it's EVERY DAMN NIGHT, and usually a couple games a night. And for the most part, it's not just a single one time mistake, but a multitude of them, and not by some minion, but by the Ace Closers that are getting paid MILLIONS and should be expected to come out and do their jobs EVERY NIGHT (and no excuses that this or that Reliever can't be used because he threw 20 pitches the night before- OMG, call 911 ., but that's another issue for another Thread.
Let's just look at tonight, and no tonight was not an anomaly, as we could take any random night and find the same. But we'll just hand out our 3 Star Closers for tonight
#3 Star goes to Rockies Closer Jimmy Johnson. Braves have a 3 run lead and bring in their Closer Johnson (Making $2.5 million this year for his 1-5 record and 4.22 ERA and 2 saves on 4 opportunities) who gives up a lead off single and throws 3 wild pitches to allow the Rockies to come back and tie, eventually winning. Now this isn't a powerhouse team he allowed to come back. This is the Rockies, who before tonight were 0-43 when trailing after 7 innings.
#2 Star goes to Dodgers Closer Kenley Jansen who came in for his perfect Save scenario, a 1-0 lead in the ninth, so even though the Dodgers weren't hitting/ scoring (why should they- they did that last night ), the D-Backs weren't exactly knocking the skin off the ball either with only 4 hits through the eighth when they brought Jansen in and got the first out, only to give up a single to Bourn, then got Goldschmidt to pop out and was so excited that he allowed Bourn to steal second and was so focused on that, he grooved one to Lamb, who crushed a deep double allowing Bourn to easily score the D-Backs first run of the game. He then struck out Tomas and was so spent that God forbid that he could come out and pitch more than one inning. But why should he overexert himself for the measly $10.65 million he's getting paid this year. And btw, they were quick to point out that this was ONLY Jansens 4th blown Save this year through half a season
And the #1 Star tonight goes to Giants Closer Santiago Casilla, who was brought in to mop up the lowly Padres in the bottom of the tenth after Posey hit a Bomb to give the Giants a 6-5 lead in the top of the inning. Casilla immediately gave up a single to Dickerson, who went to third on the next pitch, a single to Norris, who immediately stole second. Casilla facing the third batter of the inning managed to give up b2b2b hits, this time to Rosales, easily scoring Dickerson and sending Norris to third, who then proceeded to score the winning run when Casilla BALKED him in for the Padres walk off win, and not even recording an out. But for a paltry 3 year $15 million contract with $15m guaranteed, he has no worries about any ramifications, so why should he.

Hog's post continued (fk'n 7,800-character limit ... how in the hell did his whole post get posted, then, in a previous post? The fk?)
WOW- I started a quick response to LogCottage in Mozarts Thread, and obviously got a little carried away, but this worthless group of overpaid, underachieving Relievers and especially the Closers who you expect to get the job done every night they come in, especially since 95% of the time they have the luxury of a lead and just have to hold it. Glad I got that off my chest, although I still don't feel any better, just more tired
Can't wait to see who's on the list today "

Ya, I was pretty surprised that I was able to Post a reply that long, as I've had the good ole Covers "No can do" on the 7800 character before.
Anyway, you wanted to Post a Link to all Closer stats. I'm bumping a Thread that undermysac put up the other day that has the top 5 and bottom 5 Bullpens. It doesn't have individual Closers listed, but it's a very good indicator of the Closer's, as they are such an integral part of the BP. Take a look at it, as sac put a lot of time and did a really nice job with it.
BTW- Thanks for the compliment. I was afraid that I was filling your Thread with my Psycho Babbling
Good Luck today

Just ONCE, I'd like to see a manager with a pair tell his reliever,
"If you walk one batter who's hitting below .220, you'll be on a bus to our Single-A affiliate in the morning. There's a reason they're batting .220. THEY CAN'T HIT." Just once.....
