D price is in toronto. Jays desperately needed a true ace. 
Tigers get Norris and a package of prospects.

not happening they still need to add a couple good arms in the pen to be considered contenders

Apparently Yovani Gallardo said he'd waive his no contract to go to the JAYS too.


Now just trade Bumtista for some BP arms and Dickey for a prospect and I can die happy

Its a done deal.  Price to Toronto for Norris, Boyd and Labourt.  Some great young arms but that's the price you pay.  (pardon the pun)

Fighting for a wild card spot, lucky to catch the Yankees for the division

If they get  wild card they burn Price then he will get game 4 or 5 of the next round if they win the wild card.

Taking a huge chance this year.

Not going to work out.

FINALLY the Jays are making moves on top of moves. Donaldson in the offseason and then the Tulo move didn't make much sense if that was where they were going to end there because offense wasn't an issue but adding Tulo AND Price has got to be exciting for this team and their fans.

With that said...this still doesn't punch their ticket. Baseball is being revolutionized and has really become a bullpen game and the Jays don't have a lights out bullpen nor do they have a rotation that is deep. If you're in the playoffs, Price is that much bigger but there is no way you can convince me that they have a playoff caliber rotation. Yes...now they have an ACE, but it's adding an Ace to what was an Ace-less rotation.

They still have to outslug teams on most nights. The scary thing is...they have the lineup to do that. We'll see how this pans out but don't get caught up in the move...this isn't the rich getting richer (that would have been if the Dodgers got him). It's a necessary move but don't punch their tickets just yet.

They can catch Yanks still they play them you never know. Jays go on a 10 game win streak and yanks go on a losing streak and they are right back in it. Nobody wants to see the Jays sneek in with that line they just need to get in u dont have to win your division.

don't no what the dodgers were thinking here .. they were supposed front runners to land both price or hammels and wound up with neither .. Latos is not going to help get you past the giants or cardinals in the playoffs .. probably another early post season exit for the doyers

I don't think many people are quite aware of how much better the Jays pen is compared to a couple months ago. Osuna, Shultz, Sanchez, Hawkins, Cecil is without a doubt an above average pen. Osuna, Shultz, Sanchez all have ERA's under 3 working out of the pen, and those are essentially the three most important pen pieces heading down the stretch.

Price fills the role of Doubront/Boyd/Copeland. The Jays were a combined 2-9 in their starts with an ERA around 7.50. Replace that with David Price, and suddenly you're looking at 3-4 more wins.

The Jays have by a nautical mile the best offense in the majors, and by the way, they also just added the best SS in the league, to go along with the best 3B in the league, to go along with the best RF in the league, and  don't forgot one of the top 2 catchers in the league.

Add Price, possibly Stroman in September, to a rotation that has been pitching very well lately (after Buerhle's horrible start he still has a 3.29 ERA and Dickey has been great as well sporting an ERA under 3 in his last 11 starts) and if you truly don't believe you're looking at a legit contender, I'm not sure what to say.

With 13 games remaining with the Yanks, Pineda looking like he's hurt, and their unsustainable over-achieving, and I wouldn't be surprised to see the Jays take the East. I'm not saying it's going to happen, but I definitely wouldn't be surprised.

While I agree that nobody would want to face the Jays in a 1 game playoff but we learned last year that every team should be trying to win their division because everyone chalked the A's up as the team to beat last year after they got Lester and Samardjia and look what happened. 1 game playoff and their bullpen blew up and they lost. 

Then again...both teams who played in the wild card game last year went to the World Series. But in the Jays situation...a wild card game would have them using Price and then they lose their chance to set their rotation up for the first 5 game playoff series.

The goal is to win the division and while the Yankees can fall apart at any time due to age and question marks in the rotation themselves...until those problems become reality...they're still the favorites with a 6 game lead needing to only play 7 inning games. And Cashman hasn't made a move yet himself and while all the true aces are off the board...they could still make that rotation better (adding anyone while wising up and moving CC to the pen would be a plus).

2 months left. Should be fun.

I knew pitching was coming. AA for Prime Minister. He's just made the Jays the best team in MLB on paper IMO. From Top to Bottom, pitching included. Now they have to go play.

Odds of BJ's winning the World Series dropped from 25-1 to 16-1 in Vegas.  A lot of action on them after the trade I presume.

Get into the playoffs and anything is possible, that's not going to be easy.  Yes, they play 13 games against the Yankees still, but is that a good or bad thing?  I don't think they are going to take the division being this far behind so the headsup matches only put them against a tougher team who is driven to win.  I would rather play 13 of those games against a bottom dweller and try and get the first WC spot.

It will be an intense finish that's for sure, certainly doesn't hurt the Jays jersey sales.
