I do not understand why a team up by 3 or less runs allows a player to walk over to 2nd base to take away the double play possibility. I understand the risk associated with attempting to throw him out but this is the Major Leagues right? you dont have faith in your catcher throwing the ball to 2nd base?
This is especially stupid at Coors Field when a 3 run lead means nothing. You take away the possibility for a double play and you are allowing the chance for a big inning in Denver
