What type of woke shit is that lol
Espn says 550 million is too much money for MLB. Without TV revenue, MLB cant afford those big player contracts. Plus MLB is a poor product compared to 30 years ago. Steve Cohen will come to regret Sotos absurd contract.

@BlackstoneIV
something seems off with espn. now without MLB sunday night nor home run derby nor playoffs, they have a void to fill for viewership. if it was bad already with their MLB package it don't seem like the situation can get any better. very curious what their plan is. this looks like it will turn out poorly for the ESPN crew.

Fuckin ay, good points.
Please tell me that they're still trying to push wnba or something worse to fill mlb.
Is any other network picking up what espn is throwing away?

The great thing about streaming and all the new services out there is that there’s really no need for ESPN anymore—someone will always pick up those contracts.

Poor Product by Today’s standard?
If you compare it to the NBA it’s greatest show on earth right now

both sides agreed to kill the rest of the deal. ESPN wanted a discount on the fees, MLB said nope eff off
that's such some petty shit lol but i still feel we're missing something here because ESPN is out of control for doing this

Actually it does, and it's already in the works, but you Mindless sheeple just go along with the narrative.
Imagine trying to "PUSH"....the WNBA?? Into the spotlight? Imagine favoring WOMENS basketball over Baseball?
"Lazy criticism" is you people calling everything a conspiracy when somebody decides to think outside of a box.

I agree with ESPN in that it's too much money. But sports is corporate business so forget the nostalgia of hometown owners and hometown discounts. In the digital cyber world no one should be aghast these internet behemoths are investing in every aspect of society. Whether it's grocery stores, pharmaceuticals, or entertainment. It shrank the world and so who is watching ESPN shows or even SportsCenter for info anymore. It no longer serves the role it once did pre world wide web.
I always loved MLB coverage on ESPN. Baseball Tonight along with NFL Primetime were incredible. And the broadcasting of games. I don't care if I'm in the minority Jon Miller Joe Morgan were terrific. Joe Theismann, Paul Maguire and Mike Patrick on Sunday Night Football were better than Monday Night Football (until Madden arrived once Summerall retired). If you don't think ESPN er Disney isn't cost cutting for a reason look at some of their veterans who remain.
Karl Ravech is back on the road doing college basketball games. John Buccigross is doing NHL games. Studio broadcasters who have been there decades are back in booths. Maybe even taking pay cuts or taking a demotion just to stay hired. The woke or PC angle is a nice way to spin the fact ESPN is going cheaper because the internet companies are taking over radio, television, and every other medium for news and entertainment. Hiring more women and anonymous broadcasters to replace veterans is a public relations and financial move. Airing WNBA, softball, volleyball, and cornhole garbage is much cheaper forget if it's woke or not. It's actually a shame not that I agree with ESPN woke BS. I hate streaming services and will not get them until they are foisted upon me. I do not need much television in my life. Streaming is another way of complicating life with more options and headaches. I want to turn on the game, news, or show and turn it off. Trillion dollar tech corporations don't give a damn. They want in on every sector. Ratings will not matter long as there is viable interest in the main four professional leagues.
