So, this is my first year playing MLB, and I just bet my first 3 parlays last Sunday on the Reds -206 with three other teams. I thought I was up like $100, but my book just informed me that I had calculated the odds wrong. Could you guys help?
Here are my three parlays:
$25 - Reds (-206) and Philly (-110 or something) - Loss $25 - Reds (-206) and NYM/Philly UNDER 9.5 (-110)- Won $25 - Reds (-206) and LAD (+110 ) - Won
I used donbest.com parlay calculator (here) and it says I should have won like $45 and $55 on the two I won. My book says, "No, that is including your initial bet - so you won $20 and $30" But, the notes on donbest.com right beside the calculator say "win amount DOES NOT include your initial bet." Am I reading this wrong, or is my book trying to get some money back by stealing it?

First Play is a loss -$25
2nd Play is a Win for +$46
3rd Play is a Win for +$53
For a Net Profit of +$74
Now that is profit, I know through my bookie i dont actually lay out the money first. So when i win a bet it's just the profits i'm getting back because technically I never layed out $ in the 1st place. If your in a vegas sports book though you actually lay the money out & your getting your lay out money back as well. If that is the case it would be as follows...
First Play -$25
Second Play +$71
Third Play +$78
For a Total Dollar amount +$124
Obviously this might be off a few cents here or there but this is roughly what the payouts should look like...

if it is a local guy he must have taken the worng picks.
Do your self a fovor when makeing a play start a sheet for your self for every week so you are sure what you played. it should included the potentional winning amounts. i also confirm what the parlay will pay before i hang up with him. may be time to find another book good luck bud

Those are the exact numbers I gave you that should be 99.9% on point minus a few cents here and there. If you didn't get those returns you did in fact get worked over.
If that is the case I am sorry, you have now learned and although you may not think so now. This was a cheap lesson you were taught.
