Can only play who’s in front of you, but keep hearing Phillies haven’t played anyone. After looking at who they played and upcoming schedule is this the point to fade until June 19th? I mean even Mets in London could see a split. After 4 game sweep SF in early May lose 2 outta 3 this time around. I definitely respect Phillies and think this is good team.
upcoming
3 vs STL
3 vs MIL
2 METS (N) London
3 @ BOS
3 @ BAL
3 vs SD
I know STL just got hot looked like pile crap 10 days ago. But old crafty SP staff and getting swept at home last time. Seems this is time start the fade. Any thoughts ? Trying decide unit bets to try this fade.

After losing 3-0 to the Cardinals in St. Louis on April 9th to fall to 5-6, the Phillies defeated the Cardinals the next day to win the rubber game of the series and begin an incredible 32-8 stretch that ended a week ago when they swept the Rangers. But as Thinkb4ubet alluded to, the Phillies compiled those 32 wins against less than stellar competition. Let's look at who they played...
split 4 with the Pirates
swept the Rockies 3-0
swept the White Sox 3-0
split 4 with the Reds
swept the Padres 3-0
beat the Angels 2 outta 3
swept the Giants 4-0
split 2 with the Blue Jays
beat the Marlins 2 outta 3
beat the Mets 3 outta 4
swept the Nationals 3-0
swept the Rangers 3-0
All of those teams are currently under .500 except for the Giants and the Padres who are both one game over .500. Credit to the Phillies for taking care of business over this very soft quarter of their 2024 schedule, but I said a week ago that they were about to begin a swoon. They lost both of their series this past week in Colorado and San Francisco, and I expect them to stumble in tonight's series opener against the Cardinals even with the high-priced Aaron Nola getting the start.

If you're referring to the Cardinals early April series against the Phillies, the Cardinals did not get swept. They lost 2 out of 3, winning the middle game.

I was among the first to post around here about the Phillies soft schedule, but I don't think you can decide to fade a team for a series, or a week, or ten days, or whatever. Every game is its own thing and has to be assessed that way. Fading Wheeler or Suarez vs fading Sanchez or Walker is not the same thing. And, the Phillies offense is still very good by any standards. jmho

Good points fellas....kinda torn as 31-3 run denvedder has picked Phillies today. Tough to go against that record on a great capper that doesn't play many or every day games. Good luck on everyone's decisions. Cheers

The second anyone watches a Philly game, any of the schedule sqwauk context gets thrown out the window. Never mind the +93 run differential(which was 11 better then the next best team) after the Rangers sweep. Almost a third of the top 22 pitchers got ran through during this "weak schedule", Sale, Webb,Cease, Berrios, Gomber, Jon Gray, Jordan Hicks. All gave up at least 2 runs w a 7.02 ERA. Only Cease made it to 6 innings. I realize this may not mean shit to the forum, but Philly is winning when they should this season, and not squeaking by like they did the past 2 years against weaker teams. Also Philly after the Rangers series was 5th fewest in earned runs. Everyone has an opinion, especially the box score lookers, but when the lineup clicks IDGAF who they are playing LOOK OUT. All of this was done while playing with injuries and errors as well. I love cruising through this forum for all the Philly schedule talk, it makes me laugh. The Phils cant play NYY and LAD every series all year long. Enjoy hanging on to the "weak schedule" catch phrase, and have a good weekend.
