Agreed Reds should win by a few runs, vargas is a below average pitcher and Castillo should have a good outing against a average lineup at home!

Wish I could list some numbers and stats on why I am about this pick but cannot. Put simply, Jason Vargas is in a bad place with his pitching and the Reds are hungry. The offense was alive yesterday, even though they lost 6-7 and if there is one game this team can truly have an upper hand it is against Vargas. Also from a  contrarian standpoint the public loves the mets as dogs to one of the worst teams in baseball because WHO WOULDN&#x27;T. This is a sucker game that the books are trying to get people to bite on. Don&#x27;t be the fish that bites the hook! Be the fisherman!

The way Vargas has pitched, it is surprising they are still sending him out to pitch instead of down to the minors to work things out.

You just wonder when he will have things figured out and let's hope it is not today.

Have to respect that Mets have gone 8-1 on the road against teams under .400 winning % and they are 24-5 last 29 versus the Reds and of course the Reds are 5-21 last 26 home games.

Lot of trends have to be reversed and you have to hope Vargas continues to get hammered.

I think the safer bet would be Reds 1st 5 innings. This way they don't have to win (reverse trends), they just have to score enough early against Vargas and then anything can happen last 4 innings.
