But they have decided to give Juan Uribe, who plays for the Dodgers, his ring privately.
Why? Because he's a Dodger? I'm completely against this decision. He had a big homer in Game 1 of the World Series and, of course, that huge homer to clinch the NLCS last year. Not to mention all he did during the season for a weak offense.
The Yankees had an awesome moment with Matsui last year after they won the World Series when he was with the Angels and the Yankees presented the rings in that series.

Technically true, but he went to the freaking Dodgers. It'd be one thing to recognize a guy that went to the Pirates, Cards, Cubbies, etc.. I wonder how NYY would have handled Matsui's ring presentation had he joined BOS instead of LAA?

When Burrell came back to Philly , he was given his ring in a public ceremony before the game . Long , standing ovation .
I know these teams hate each other , but he Giants fans deserve a chance to show their appreciation ...and he deserves the recognition .It's bad form to do it privately . Small - classless.

While it isn't technically the same...lets not forget that the Yankees and Angels aren't exactly friends. I'd say the Angels are the 2nd biggest rivals to the Yankees this decade.
