They have the #1 bullpen in the NL and the #5 pitching staff as a whole in the NL. Bad offense and great pitching equals out to about where they are at 11-14.

Well, Bud Black is part of the problem. Cabrera and Denorfia are hitting well in the #1 and #2 spots but he has continued to keep Headley (before the DL) and Gyrko behind them.

The funny thing is that the Padres employ two hitting coaches on the major league roster.
