I remember Minnesota going to a one game play-in to get into the playoffs. I think they beat Detroit in that game, a major snub for such a long season. Apparently, Detroit remembered as they have beaten Minnie for a sizeable amount of games straight.

Here we have the match up again tonight with Detroit's ace on the mound. We have this revenge factor and an ace on the mound. Detroit is gonna want to bury Minnie and run away with the division. Tonight they can do this and troud on their rival in the process.

&#xD;&#xA;I would disagree.&#xD;&#xA;Anyhow, Detroit winning 9 of 9 last heads up meetings and Verlander dominating a 10-1 Minnie home game of those 9 games does mean something to me. &#xD;&#xA;You really think this angle is moot? That is not that long ago and would definitely provide a little juice in their quest for the division. They would like nothing more than using Minnie as a stepping stone.

Motivation is not as much a factor in baseball as it is in Football, basketball and hockey. Wanting to hit Roy Halladay doesn&#x27;t make it come true. In other sports you can out-hustle the other team or physically exert more effort. Not so in baseball. Sure you can concentrate more, but emotions play much less a part in baseball.

Then the Rockies took 3 out of the first 4 from the Padres the next season.In 2008 the White Sox beat the Twins in a 1 game playoff. Then the White Sox took 4 out of the first 5 from the Twins the next season.Where were the Padres and Twins revenge factors in these situations?
