Marlins Waste 111 Million on Jose Reyes

Yes. Playing 130 games or less in a season makes this contract over the top. But this is more than that. The Marlins just got an impact player. A player fans can be happy and excited about. And they're not done yet.

The Heat had problems drawing fans until they got LBJ and Bosh.

I heard a good arguement about this the other day. Now that they play in a dome...people, who come from all parts of Florida, won't have to worry if the game will be played. They won't have to worry about it being too hot. They can be confident when they come that they will see a game.

And the more guys they sign...the more excited they'll get. The first year is the most important. Fans will go just to see if things have changed. As long as they don't go and say "same old Marlins" than people will come back for more.

With the new park, the hiring of Ozzie, and the splash into free agency, I think they are planning on drawing a touch more than 2,000 per game. 

Not sure exactly where this new stadium is located but the Rays are located in a very shitty area and the Trop is a joke (I've never been there...but that's all I've heard my entire life).

Not sure if tickets went on sale for the Marlins or where this number came from...but the Marlins are expected to get around 2.5 million fans this season. Who knows? But like you said...we'll see.
