May 17 Mariners at Oakland

first things first, it's raining in Oakland, I think it's fair to say this game is in doubt.

dropped another one-run last at bat loss on sunday to even my record at 4-4.   i backed Felix at -124 and Lee at +140, had the lead in both games, and lost both games by one run when the opponent scored in their last at bat.  i still think the mariners are backable at heavy dog prices or closer to even with Felix or Lee, but I will likely be staying on the porch until I see some improvement in their ability to stop losing every close game.  they hav 13 raod losses, and 11 of of those occurred in the opponent's final at bat.

here's some reason I like under 7.5 tonight . . . .both of these teams rankn in the bottom 5 among all mlb teams when it comes to scoring runs . . .gonzalez has struggled this season with runners on base, which shouldn't be an issue vs the mariners . . . oakland pitching has been very solid at home . . . this game does involve the seattle mariners.

food for thought . . . the mariners are 24th in MLB with a .225 batting avg vs lefties, and that number should improve with Junior on the pine and Sweeney at the plate), meanwhile the Oakland A's could only wish to have such a high batting avg vs southpaws, only the toronto blue jays are worse.

under 8.0 for me tonight

i knew The Hyphen was struggling, but he's making the A's look like the Yankees.  Hopefully, he enjoys his time in PCL after this start.

even though i do follow the thought of  . . . there are no bad bets, just bad prices . . . i can't imagine the Mariners prices will get low enough for me to back them until i see some kind of turn around.
