The situation in
Chicago reverses today as the Cubs must face a strong right handed pitcher, a
situation that saw them go into the break at 1-9 last 10 and 6-14 their last
20. The lefty Perez was ideal for them, but not a strong righty like Darvish.
Phillies -101, Verrett/Eickhoff
Verrett is the
bottom of the Mets rotation while Eickhoff is an above average prospect that
has established himself with a 10-8 quality start record and his team went into
the break hitting righty very well. Colon shut them down last night, but I
doubt Verrett can do the same.
Royals -115, Duffy/Pelfrey
Duffy is the sweet
surprise for the Royals this year. He was groomed to be a starter and this time
around (finally!) it looks like he may stay out of the pen and stick in the
rotation. The Tigers hold the offensive matchup edge here but it is light years
shy of Duffy over Pelfrey, and therefore no surprise Duffy is favored.
