I'm all over this total .. It seems like just last year, we were watching Santana get lit up on the road .. oh wait, it was last year. Santana has been dominant thus far even on the road, but shame on the oddsmakers for flashing an 8 with these two pitchers on the mound. At some point Santana will have a set back, and Tropicana seems like the perfect spot for that to happen as Santana sports a 1-3 record with an 8.22 ERA in his career there. While I don't expect him to pitch too poorly, I'm expecting he's going to be hit for at least 3 runs.
That will provide plenty of support for the over given Sonnastine won't have much success today. Sonnastine is pitching on shortened rest today and it's coming against on of the better lineups in the AL. Sonnastine is a much better pitcher when he gets his standard 5 days rest. He's young, so his effectiveness really comes down to consistency. I'm not sure why he's coming up on 4 days rest, but stats for him getting non-standard rest is downright atrocious.
<5 days rest : 0-0 with a 7.71 ERA
>5 days rest : 2-7 with a 7+ ERA
Angels have yet tp have 3 straight unders all year and are 4-0-1 OVER following two straight unders.
