Do you guys make $$ betting this sport? It looks so hard . What do you look for when capping mlb games??
I did earlier in the year. I'm a RL guy so earlier u were getting plus money on ur bets. I could go 2 and 3 and turn a profit. Now its lay 2.5 and pay 110 lol. I mean shit look at the ML on some of these games. Chi sox were minus 400. Yeah we knew they would win but I ain't risking 400 to win a 100. Its baseball anything can happen. My top 2 today were yanks and white sox. U split u lose if took them on the ML.

There’s no “handicapping” this sport the way it’s played nowadays. Flip a coin or save your $...When you have multiple hitters in MLB STARTING LINEUPS every night with sub .200 batting averages, it’s an absolute disgrace what’s happened to this game.

I usually stick to NBA. With no NBA action until October, I thought MLB would be a good way to pass the time - but these odds and outcomes are complete crapshoots.

Most would probably agree with this: the hardest part about capping baseball right now is honestly the bullpens. They’re so volatile and unpredictable.
I couldn’t argue if you just stick with first 5 inning bets just to bet starter vs. starter. This has become my approach on Totals.
The other thing to look for is solid + price underdogs that you feel can win, though not lifeless teams like Baltimore Pitt etc.
Also I would say only bet baseball if you like watching the sport, as personally I only bet sports that I am passionate about because I understand all the nuances without it being a chore. Some people can win just based off of stats and numbers but what gives me an edge is I factor in the human element which sometimes gives me an edge in stat-based markets
other than that, since baseball sides are all about ML’s, I would say just go about a limit to where you may be priced out of a game. For instance I will never lay more than -155 on a game no matter what.
please feel free to reach out to me if you ever have questions or wanna discuss in depth more and that goes for anyone on this forum

@OneWayOut
Also there is no such thing as starting pitchers anymore. It's bullpen and more bullpen. Use to be easier back in day just comparing the starting pitchers.

Whatever is said by One Way Out should be taken with a grain of salt . I understand the point he makes . . .but at the same time he criticized the White Sox for having Eloy Jimenez in the lineup with his .111 average . . . .obviously not knowing who he was. Also not mentioning he had just come off disabled list and had just 18 official at bats. He said it would be hard for him to raise his average as he got more at bats . . .when in fact with that few at bats he could do so quickly . He said this was an example of what's wrong with baseball . . .forgetting or not knowing that Jiminez was already a .276 career hitter with great power numbers . . .and the White Sox were happy to have him back . Of course Jimenez has back to back two homer games and hit a big homer in the field of dreams game and has added much since his return . . . .and his average is now up to .270 . One Way Out should apologize . . . .ha ha . . . in 800 official at bats so far he is a .276 hitter with 53 homers and 150 rbi . . one of better young hitters in baseball . . .in the case of Jimenez he was dead wrong . . . hardly an example of what's wrong with baseball.

For me, MLB is usually profitable if I stick to live betting and pick and choose my spots. For example, if a game is 1-0 in the top of the 5th, but the teams have combined for 10 hits, there's usually some pretty good value to be found on an "over" bet.

K props early in the season is the way to go
I slow down big time after the all-star break
also as others have said odds go to crap after the all-star break, they juice the faves heavy and make ya have to hit at 66% or better if you play em
can be profitable if you pick good spots or are good at calling when the dogs will pull out a win

Yes. And good bets are looking thru pitching matchups and betting team totals over 1.5 runs combining multiple gms into a parlay.
You WILL pay high juice values on these types of wagers however, the parlay once it hits like 5 teams, will pay you a nice 1-1 or evn more in lots of cases.
Example
S.f giants team total over 1.5 runs(-900)
Detroit team total over 1.5 runs(-600)
Do this with multiple teams that u are expecting to score that night or day.
Easy money sumtimes

My biggest advice is look at the past between teams. Find the patterns and your set. Just one small tip. It works amazing with NBA.
I make more money betting sports that any investments stuff.
Canada just passed all the laws so now I can make a business from it ......best year ahead.
Also, this might sound like I'm contradicting myself, but as NCIS agent Gibbs says
RULE NUMBER 3.......look it up!
Also, find one team in every sport and watch them as much as possible learn their habits and LIVE BET.....it's how I started making money.....people don't change. We are creatures of habit ;) $$$$$

Not sure why all this talk about taking heavy favorites in baseball here. The way to go is taking dogs in regular season. Lots of value in baseball unlike basketball.

Make around 10k-40k a year on nhl and mlb. 2 of the easiest sports. Learned everything from Dubs, Chenker, Lippmann, Madjack and Horns.
I only use legit books like Pinnacle, Betonline, and 5dimes those books won't limit your money.

Not a fan of white Sox or Eloy in particular . . .just pointing out how totally off base u were using him as example of what's wrong with baseball. Guy is a very good hitter. Your mindless rant about him being an example of what's wrong with baseball once again shows your total ignorance of the sport . . . pretty obvious you dint even know who he was . . .you just saw an average and made your mindless comment. A week later he was up to .270 and hit a bunch of homers . . hopefully you realized who he was watching field of dreams game . How foolish u must have felt . . .guy had 18 at bats and u ripped him and team for playing him . .. ha ha ...clearly u had no clue .. . .judging by most of your comments that's easy to see. One Way Out . . its a good thing u don't bet baseballll anymore . . now disappear and do many a favor.
