MIL/CIN Over 8.0 (1.83)
CIN's starter, Edinson Volquez posted a 8.38 ERA in three spring training outings, with 11 walks in only 9 2/3 innings. Last
season he had one good and one bad outing vs MIL. He gave up 6 hits, 4
runs, and 4 walks in 3.2 innings, back in July. Yovani Gallardo goes
for MIL, his numbers vs CIN last season were pretty bad, in 3 starts he
allowed almost 5 runs/game with all 3 games going over the total. Over
is 3-0-1 in Gallardos last 4 starts vs. Reds, and 4-1-1 in Volquezs last
6 starts vs. Brewers. Decent weather today in Ohio, 8 degrees and only
a light wind. I think we see some runs.
LA Dodgers (1.91)
Its Lincecum vs Kershaw tonight. Last season Kershaw was solid vs SF.
In 4 starts he only allowed 5 earned runs in 29 innings pitched, with
25Ks. Lincecum had 2 solid games vs LA, but the Dodgers did light him
up for 5 runs in 4.2 innings in July. I like the Dodgers energy on
opening day, new manager Don Mattingly, and a chance to compete against
the defending champs. I think the Championship hangover will effect SF
this season, plus the injury to all-star closer Brain Wilson is a huge
hit to their bullpen. I like LA to start 1-0.
