I took the Orioles in this matchup. They are down 5 to 0 in the bottom of the 4th and they look terrible. Oops. Sonny Gray is doing really well. I have to learn.

Well, don't make the same mistake tonight. After last night's 6-3 win, the Cardinals have won 6 of 8 since they stood at 15-24 on May 11th. The Orioles were 26-12 on that same day, but have since lost 5 of 8.
Last night the first 4 hitters in the Cards lineup went a wasteful 1-16 while the lower part of the order collected 7 of the team's 8 hits. The #8 and #9 hitters drove in all 6 runs! So what does this mean? It means the guys in the lower half of the lineup will arrive at the ballpark today feeling confident while the top 4 hitters (Donovan, Nootbaar, Goldschmidt, and Arenado) are DUE.
Kyle Bradish will make his 4th start for the Orioles. He's averaging 5 innings per start, but he's also averaging 86 pitches to get even that far. I expect he'll run up his pitch count again here. Portly Lance Lynn has been bad lately, but I'm hoping he can hold the O's to just 2 or 3 runs in his expected 5 innings of sweaty labor instead of his usual 4. He doesn't have a good reputation anymore, but the big man with the big beard has never had a losing season, though he's just 1-2 in his return to St. Louis this year. So I guess you could say that's he's due as well.
Speaking of throwing 86 pitches but not getting very far, that's how many Dean Kremer threw in just 4 innings last night. The Orioles had to use three relievers who combined to throw 75 pitches. The Cards used four relievers but they combined to throw half that number. Ryan Helsley finished off the O's with a 9-pitch 9th in his first appearance in six days, so he'll be ready to finish tonight's game, too.
I can't ignore that the Orioles are a strong 12-3 following a loss this season, and 9-2 if they're playing the same opponent. Ah, so what. They can win on Wednesday afternoon.

Yesterday you questioned the line and we said it was because Sonny Gray, Blalt not a good track record in STL. Now tonight I think BALT can hang & win ...Lance Lynn will get knocked around

Orioles haven't been swept since 2022 , lost the first game of the series + you have the 12-3 & 9-2 #s ? The play is the Orioles if you are ready to chase tomorrow to avoid the sweep otherwise Lynn gonna have to pitch like old Lance today. BOL to all.
