This should be a great spot for the home team to get reacclimated with their home winning ways. Coming off an up and down 10 game road trip the Sox predictably were asleep at the plate yesterday going up against Millwood. Today is a young pitcher who has no business being in the majors at this point in Derek Holland. The Rangers used him in two starts to no success and since have used him in the pen and he has not been good. Concern in Texas is that they may be rushing this guy as this will be his last start before Harrison returns. I tend to fade young kids going into roadies in general, especially with tape on them now, especially against a potent lineup, and especially in an environment like Fenway. Jon Lester takes the bump for the Sox and he has showed signs this year that some of his #s are a little schewed than how he has truly pitched. His K/BB ratio is just fine and this man has gotten better in his last 3 with a 3.44 era. If you bet baseball last year you know that Lester was downright nasty at home basically carrying this team on his back. The Rangers dont have much career success in limited abs(kinsler 1 for 8 and a bunch of 0for3s) against Lester but Young is 5 for 10. The Sox have dominated the Rangers historically at Fenway and I look for them to resume that dominance here. This could be the 10-4 type game many have seen over the years here.
