At first glance I really like the over. Hochevar has had some absolutely terrible outings but he's also mixed them with some pretty good ones. But over his past few starts he's just looked lost and with this series usually producing a lot of runs...I fully expect the Sox to put in some work against him. But the interesting story here is Chris Sale. He's pitching great, then goes to the bullpen with a hurt elbow, pitches an inning there, and is back in the rotation 4 days later after an MRI showed no damage. The White Sox are handling this guy all wrong and it's a shame. Sale has been vocal about his desire to stay in the rotation and he will have a lot of pressure today. But how will his elbow hold up and how will swapping him back and fourth hurt him as well? I fully expect a 7-4 type of game here in favor of the Sox and I'd lean the over.
Indians/Red Sox
Not only are the Red Sox favored...but favored with Felix Doubront on the mound? Get the fuck out of here. Zach McAllister got called up and will take his spot. Not really sure you can expect anything positive from him. While the Sox are struggling...their offense can still open up on any pitcher on any given day. And I don't trust either bullpen here and, with Miller taking over for Beckett, the Sox' bullpen doesn't have a long reliever ready if Doubront gets into trouble so he may have to take one for the team if he struggles, which wouldn't be a bad thing for either the over or a play on the Tribe. You can't take the Sox here as favorites...it makes no sense. The Indians are worth taking if you're a value guy but I couldn't put my money in the hands of McAllister as the line isn't too ridiculous. The over seems like the right play but it also seems like the "too easy" play. So that would be my lean in this one.

I instantly regret doing this.

PJ Walters makes his Twins debut here so God help him. Hutchinson has been pretty damn bad but he's facing the Twins and if there's any team out there to put forth a good outing against...it's this team (along with the A's and M's). The Twins have ONE, two-game winning streak this season. Just one. And that came on the first week of the season against the Angels. Last night they scored 7 runs and that was just the second time in their last 11 games that they scored more than 3 runs. The Jays don't usually have problems scoring runs. Bautista went off for 2 homers last night and the Jays have scored at least 5 in 6 of their last 10 games. Add that trend with the Twins' offenses trend and you have a winner right there. Lets also not forget that this is Liriano's day to pitch and Walters is taking over for him in the rotation. So Liriano will probably act as the long man if Walters gets into trouble or his pitch count gets high quickly...which is another reason to take the Jays. They are definitely the lean here as you can't pass up a respectable line like this against the Twins no matter where the game is being played.

Good to see ya posting sparky... thanks for the writeups, i always like reading info on games from others perspectives..
I'm so rusty in this damn sport. Doing this every day kept me sharp. Doubt I'll be able to keep it up but I will try to be more active. It's also a good distraction from the world. Especially if there's money to be made. I need to start tailing you.
