There is no storyline in this matchup but there are a number of factors that made me sway on the value side:
1. Both hitting lineups have struggled when faced with a lefty. Oakland has averaged .179 and Toronto has average .174 in home/away splits.
2. I imagine Toronto is the public choice here but line has moved the opposite way.
3. Oakland is 5-1 in game 3 of a series. They are 3-1 after a game 2 loss. Toronto is 2-5 in game 3 of a series. They are 2-2 after a win.
4. The home ump, Scott Barry, has a perfect 5-0 record for the visiting team.
5. Bullpen available for Toronto has a 7.71 ERA. Oakland's pen has a 2.95 ERA.
6. Eveland's career day numbers are 6-6 5.18 ERA 1.53 WHIP .283 BAA. Gonzalez's is 4-3 5.37 ERA 1.65 WHIP 2.56 BAA but it's interesting to note that he has historically performed better in the day games. This season, he has one day game where he has gone 7 innings, gave up 5 hits and no runs. He got the W decision.
