I'm playing the Yanks ML today and there seems to be popular backing for this. Just wondering what everyone else is on and why? Seen some love for the Mariners too but personally I cant see them outscoring the Yankees in their own back yard... Cliff Lee is doing well however and baseball is a funny sport
BTW not trying to bash anyone on Seattle, just looking for constructive discussion.

Hughes, getting some extra rest, should easily shut down the Mariners' lineup. But come on...Lee is getting +140? You will NEVER see that line again this season. And he probably has a chip on his shoulder from last season AND will also be trying to impress the Yankees because they'll probably be the top contenders to get him in the offseason.
This line is so skechy. Is Lee +140 BECAUSE he's facing the Yankees and Hughes at Yankee Stadium...or is it like that to draw money onto Lee for a public burial. I think it's #1 because the "public" would never unload against the Yankees.
I say you have to take Lee and the plus money because he's been the best pitcher in the AL lately.

Under 4 for the first 5.(a little extra juice to get under 4) Think both starters go fairly deep, haven't seen eachother this year either.
If i had to take a side it would be Seatlle first 5 as I think it will be close and would rather put my money on Lee when I know he'll be pitching and not the Seatlle bullpen.

Very true. I'm hoping that the Yanks get on top of Lee early and that Seattle struggle to hit the ball.I find it very difficult to bet against the Yanks at home with one of their best pitchers on the mound. No denying the value on Lee though...

REASON FOR PICK: One can't ignore
Seattle's 11-26 road record or that the Yankees are 25-10 in The Bronx
but I'm still making a small play on the Mariners in this game. Cliff
Lee makes it worth the gamble. He got a late start this season (first
start came on April 30) and is 6-3 with a 2.39 ERA. He's got a STUNNING 76-4
KW ratio (hasn’t issued a walk in 37 innings) and is 5-1 (team is 6-1)
over his last seven starts. He's allowed a modest nine ERs over his last
six starts (50 IP), giving him a 1.62 ERA (includes three CGs and two
eight-inning efforts). Hughes (10-1 with a 3.17 ERA) has given the Yanks
everything and more this season but note that while the Yanks are 8-4
at home vs lefties this season, they are averaging only 3.5 RPG vs
lefties in night games. Bottom line is I'm taking a chance (at this
price) with Lee.
