and the playoffs should start right when football starts. I was very much into the season and following the division races and the faster games helped me stay interested....
that being said.. the season is too long. and too many games. With football starting now and mlb still playing regular season games it would be a smart move imo to have your playoffs start when NFL is starting up. Playoffs are a new season and would help keep up interest with football

No!!!! I love all sports but why does mlb have to take back seat to NFL???? Baseball is better than ever especially with the new rule changes/minnesota twins in division/playoff race. The best part is there’s a game everyday!!!

They really can't with season records, ie how can you shorten the season and still have meaningful numbers for stolen bases, homeruns, etc.
LOL, MLB doesn’t care about stats/records… the only reason why they’ll never shorten the season is lost revenues. That’s it. Owners would never sign off that.

The CWS are chasing the Mets 1962 record of 40-120. At 33-112 with 17 games remaining, it looks like the Southside could set the MLB record in futility.
Without the remaining games, the NYM would be stuck with this dubious record.
Time to pass this honor on to the worst owner in baseball.

Honestly it was more true to form when only 4 teams made the playoffs. You can't play this many games and have this many teams in the playoffs. Either shorten season or go back to 4 teams total( 2 in each league) in playoffs.

But then most teams season would be over in August with no hope of making the playoffs for most
At least with the current wild card format a lot of teams hovering in and around the the +.500 mark have a shot of making it so it goes down to the wire in late Sept and adds to the excitement so to speak
However I do think the season is too long as well and it's a long summer for these guys with all the games and travel and what not, but they're getting well compensated for it
