This is the worst season ever for contributors during the hot stove season. Apparently even Sparky has abandoned this forum, probably for the same reasons so many others have. I guess we will have to wait for the "pre-season-is-so-easy" geniuses to come back for Spring Training.

After the winter meetings, things seem to have come to a halt. Just a few more weeks till spring training and things should heat up since everyone is in the pennant race during spring training. Was pleased with the Tribe this offseason.

Read a story today that the Indians are in talks with Batista's agent. They are waiting for the price to fall and may offer a one year deal. Only problem they would have to give up their 2nd pick in the upcoming draft. They have already given up their #1 for Edwin E. Looks like their are trying to load up to make a run the next few years before they pitching staff begins to break up.

If Salazar and Carrasco make it through the whole season healthy, the Tribe will be a force to be reckoned with. -160 to -190 ML's will be common.
I wonder if Odor will get along with any ex Jays?
That is true, and there will be no profit at those odds. The trick will be to figure out when they are going to lose, which they will, probably 60 to 65 times.

I thought the baseball forum was more uneventful this year than past years, and Sparky who would keep us up to date on player moves like you said has moved on to another place I would guess. It is good to see our old friend bcd coming around a bit more with football and NBA this year, was starting to think something bad had happened, but he is still the same. was going to e-mail you to see how things are,but had to post here to keep you up to date, was talking to LT the other day,he was in with Greg Bell for a Golf Function,Got an NFL hat from Brian Mitchell,he was a great guy actually,LT who I thought was suppose to be clean had a few drinks that someone else paid for.My server forgot to take his order so had to give him a free scotch, was not planning on it but he made no move to pay for it and the guy that bought the round had paid already,so we ate it. Len Faulkner a former player has a good foundation going for the old guys, they do this fund raisers for the guys that played when we were kids and made 6 grand a year, also Greg Bell has a good program for the kids in High School getting ready to pick their college to play sports for and how to get the most value for them, looked at his book, its more of a study guide with work sheets and questions after every chapter, looked like a good program. Hope your doing well, you had a bit of a cleaning out did'nt you? Your not posting much either, getting ready for Spring Training yet, sure you will be at a couple games. Well that is enough name dropping for awhile, take care.

Name dropping is a disgusting practice, but nothing I would not expect from YOU.
On the subject of recruiting; my son's high school coach had it simplified. "How much does it cost to go to your school?" How much of that are you paying?"
Never over-complicate things.

It had nothing to do with the fact that these kids are getting a free ride to hopefully get a degree, the point of the PROGRAM was to pick a college that was right for you and to have some help in thinking beyond college from guys that had been there. Lots of them after making a bunch of money end of broke or BK,I think Greg has picked a good thing to do after his years of playing football were over, lots of these kids do not have the people in their lives to help them to make choices that could set them up for a lifetime.Maybe you think its better for them to get Agents and Managers that steal their money because no one has taken time to help them with more than "Who Is Paying For Your 4 Years Of College". I'm sorry,Greg is Greg Bell, former running back for Rams and Buffalo I think also, but best years were with Rams in case you did not read last post.

Gut says late money will come in on the Falcons, whether they're right or not is the question.
Sorry I didn't check before the game but I did lean Pats.
As for the Hammel signing I think it was good this late and considering the Royals weren't looking until Ventura died. Hammel is probably the best of what is left out there.

Just because I don't Post doesn't mean I haven't been watching.
On the other hand...this is the first time I've checked this forum since last offseason. Got annoyed writing and having the website crash on me after submitting it and having to write it all again.
P.S.
Yankees stole Chris Carter and Gary Sanchez almost homered off an attempted intentional ball last season. There are my hot takes.
