I don't understand that either... sometimes calls seem unfair, but there is generally some logic.. In that case, I don't get it. Could call it a "no play" maybe, but to give the advantage to the hitter/runner I don't understand.

Yes, if nothing else call the whole play off and batter still up. Count it as a strike. But to give them both the bases and call it a hit, not the right thing to do. Luckily it didn't matter, but just the same .
