I've noticed throughout my gambling career that a lot of people who bet on baseball, usually bets parlays.
I was just wondering what is the logic behind that? I know juice can be super high for certain teams for ML but still, the odds of hitting a two team parlay is super difficult, let alone, 4 to 5 teams.

If people are using the majority of their funds on parlaying sports, they will lose money. People who PROFIT on sports wagering are doing single plays. Period!

that's not wright! i know one guy who only plays parlays and this guy rocks! he plays 6-10 team parlays and he is unbelievable and makes a lot of money

Exactly. Because a lot of baseball wagering has higher juice on the ML, so people think that by parlaying two (or more) games they are mitigating the juice, when in reality, they obviously are not. Obviously, not the only reason, but certainly one.
I think it's a mental hurdle for bettors to overcome, laying juice that is. A lot of us think that we are not making a good wager if we lay more than -110 and so we look to try to get in that range. But in reality, all you really want to be doing is laying a price that is better than the true odds of the result.
Getting the best line and price are very important, but a good wager should never truly be defined by how close it is to even money, rather it should be defined by how much value you are getting relative to the true odds.

i tell you what i got a kid on my book that all he does is parlay and since February i already paid him close to 20k ... sick ... for as long I've been around I've never seen anything like it

I hit an 8 team last year, and you know what? I'm still celebrating! 3 dollars won me $450!

Do not try to parlay until you have the edge. I almost always start with $20 and have stupid little $5 wins until I get up to $50. At which point I feel comfortable to lift it to $10.
I know this seems stupid, and if you have a ton of money, by all means, up that number to $100 but I just cannot justify that much money being spent because I tuck and run too quickly after a loss.
Eventually I get to $500 and I cash out and start again.
I'm best at handicapping the NFL so I'm planning on betting every game this year so we'll see.
When it comes down to it, if you know a team is going to win, do not worry about the odds. It sucks to put 100 down to win 56 but if it's a really strong play they are just handing you money.
