Why is Flaherty still in the game???

Question

Why not pull him now so he&#x27;ll be rested for game 2? As of right now he slots into game 3 and most likely only pitches one game in the LCS unless it goes 7. Very poor strategy by STL manager.

You obviously know nothing about baseball. Cards will do whatever it takes to ensure they win this game. A Braves comeback is extremely unlikely but the Cards will play this like a one run game until the last out is recorded. You sound like a travel ball coach..

A comeback? The Braves are already mentally booking their flights to Monte Carlo so they can sun themselves on Livorno Beach. They have all of that money to spend and who cares if they performed like bums in game 5? They sure don&#x27;t.

Its more than pitch count in the game..All the warm up pitches pre game and during innings add up...Sherzer pitch 1 inning and had his start pushed backed and he even said he was gassed yesterday...

The point is a good manager will never &#x201C;save&#x201D; pitching during an elimination game. Every MLB and college coach would play this exactly how the Cards are and it is the correct move.

Boone pulled Tanaka up 8 - 1, this guy leaves his starter in the game up 13 - 1...  He should of been pulled after the 2nd inning..
