Adam Wainwright is not as good on extended rest. It will be cold in Boston and I don't think he will be as sharp as he can be. I would always be hesitant to bet against this ace, but I think Boston takes game 1.
Michael Wacha on the other hand is on fire and I see no reason why he will slow down for game 2. He hasn't pitched that many innings this season and is in prime form for late October. St, Louis gets out of Boston with the series tied 1-1. Cards take game 2.
I am leaning the Cardinals for the series. Their lineup will be improved in Boston with the return of Allen Craig in the DH position. Carlos Beltran's first trip to the Fall Classic is a feel good storyline that provides added incentive (as if you need any). Yadier Molina's and Matt Carpenter's run for MVP consideration is sometimes overlooked, The emergence of Michael Wacha as a star of the future - if not already.
I really don't think the Cardinals have much of a chance at all to win 3 at home after Wainwright and Wacha pitch the first two games of the series. I see this going back to Boston with St. Louis holding a 3-2 lead.
Either way you go, it should be a great series. Good luck!

The Red Birds take 2 of 3 at home. The loss will come either tonight or Sunday. Monday is money on St. Louie. Staying the course from my previous thread (2-0). Wacha, again, wins it for them in Boston.

A must win for the Cardinals tonight. I think Wainwright will be much better than in game 1. Lester should be sharp as well. Got to stay with my initial thought process of this going back to Boston with the Cardinals up 3-2. Taking the home team and a better performance from Wain-O. The series can go either way. Could Wacha win another in Fenway?

Well, the tide has turned. So has my opinion of the series. I can't see the Cardinals taking both games back in Boston. I think the play here is the Red Sox in game 6. Double up if they happen to go to game 7. I would be shocked if the Red Birds found a way.
