two movies I have been looking forward to seeing premiering on premium channels the weekend of Saturday January 14th
Bridge of Spies (2015) historical spy drama about the "spy swap" of U-2 pilot Fracis Gary Powers for KGB spy Rudolf Abel. stars Tom Hanks as James Donovan who was Abel's lawyer during his spy trial in the US and was also the "go between" with the Soviet;s during the swap negotiations. Mark Rylance plays Rudolf Abel and won the Best Supporting Actor Oscar. the film also had Oscar nominations for Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay. it holds a 91% "fresh" from Rotten Tomatoes. I am a sucker for "spy stuff" and have been looking forward to seeing this one. plays on Showtime Saturday January 14th @ 4:00pm and 9:00pm pacific time
Now You See Me 2 (2016) sequel to the 2013 "heist-mystery-action" film that once again stars Jesse Eisenberg, Mark Ruffalo, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, Daniel Radcliffe, Lizzy Caplan, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman. I thought the first one was pretty good with it's tricks, action and crazy "plot twists" and am looking forward to seeing IF this one measures up. only holds a 34% "fresh" from Rotten Tomatoes so we shall see. plays on HBO Saturday January 14 pretty much all day

FWIW - Now You See Me 2 is a big disappointment IMO. I only say that bc I was such a big fan of the 1st installment.
Ok now, Taboo on FX with Tom Hardy should be legit, and also that Sneaky Pete looks like it may become a regular on my watchlist.
Movie-wise, the new Alien movie, Logan (Wolverine), Guardians of the Galaxy 2, Star Wars Ep. VIII, New Planet of the Apes and the new John Wick all look like big winners to me.
