this thread is intended to be more than just a bitch 'n moan session on Fox News. It will serve as an analysis, with specific examples illustrating their positives and negatives.
1) they are split screening two news stories that have nothing to do with one another. The downward trend of the Dow, which they are interestingly feeding into a discussion of not raising taxes on the rich. That's an interesting direction for the mainstream media to take our financial crisis, into extending a break for the wealthy (which will now pass, mark my words). The other item, the hurricane, is of course a natural event. The market is not a natural event. But to pair the two stories is to pair the idea that Wallstreet is a force of nature, a storm that's as unavoidable as hurricane Earle.

Here is a news story regarding health care w/ pollster Frank Luntz. The story is going off the thesis that the public was not allowed the proper time to understand the health care plan. I would have regarded listing some other examples of congress holding up passage of a bill so that the public can be educated on the issue. Personally, I can't think of any examples. So, pushing something through is status quot. Now we have a news story emphasizing this issue, but only making it relevant w/ regard to the health care plan.
No discussion of the cost of the war AT ALL!!! while they're discussing current expenses.

we now have a story on "Your World - Cavuto" about health care supporters who believe their marches are comparable to the civil rights - era marches. Is this an insult to the civil rights movement?
- an ironic spin when one considers the recent Glen Beck rally ad the support he has from Fox News.
Is marching for Health Care reform more or less of an insult to the civil rights movement than Glen Beck's rally?

- the first mug shot they show is of a black man, never named. This is followed by a damaged shoe and then a man who appeared white and was also not named, not even in the screen's lower third.

a story about making the mistake of "backing Nancy Pelosi."
that's the story regarding S.D. candidate Kristi Noam.
this was pretty bad. just an anti-left story, from what I saw. an opinion editorial segment I remember when they used to be so boring, that how you knew you were watching an op ed segment. now they are woven directly into the rest of the news broadcast.

I like Bill O'Reilly, even though he is a Jesus lover. He is a smart guy and IMO, fair. I do usually watch Fox and Friends in the morning, I love bizarro Three's Company. The guy who does the sports and shit is OK, but the other two are fucking idiots. The unintentional comedy is priceless. I like the people at CNN better, if that makes any sense.Fuck you, Laura Ingraham.
