goes into the history of Chinese military general and national hero Qi Jiguang and how he made the local peasant "self defense forces" into a professional army during the time of the Mongols and Japanese pirates. he is still considered "the father of the PLA" (ChiCom Peoples Liberation Army). goes into great detail of Jiguang's strategy and battle tactics and how he worked with Ming Dynasty Grand Secretary Zhang Juzheng to get the wall built.
well worth watching IF your into ancient military history. was a VERY well acted documentary with information I had never known before. unfortunately I haven't seen a repeat scheduled BUT the Military Channel normally DOES repeat their docs SO hopefully it will be on again soon.
