There are so many... and so many different styles. I think we'd have to make categories and seperate them, then vote.
For me... I love situational (not TV sit-coms) and physical humor from stand ups or in movies. I use to laugh my ass of at the Jerry Lewis-Dean Martin movies as a kid in the 70's. Those two always got into crazy situations and Lewis was a physical comedy king. The Carol Burnett show was absolutely hilarious and all the cast members made me die laughing back then.
Richard Prior had a way with the tone of his voice and looks on his face that was priceless. One of the all-time greats for sure and very unique as far as style and method.
George Carlin was a thinkers comedian which was great but not when you were high (IMO). He was actually very dry in my opinion but still a genius.
Dice Clay was an absurd character comedian. He played the part very well. I have not seen "Adventures of Ford Fairlane" in years but I'll never forget the sceen when he wakes up in the Sorority house full of bouncing tits and ass... the look on his face was so fucking funny. Not an all time great but one of the best at what he did.
Chris Farley was also brilliant as a physical comedian but he could obviously also play many different roles which we saw in the movies he had roles in. He made me laugh just by showing up in a scene.
TV Sit-coms ---I liked the character named Kramer on Seinfeld and the nutty cabbie from Taxi as far as sitcoms go. Married with children was also golden and the Bundy Dad was awesome. Woody Harrelson on Cheers was my favorite in that show.
I guess I could go on but wanna see what others come up with as well.
