this has probably been done a thousand times but I wanted to know anyway? Was rounders the best pure gambling movie any made? IS there a better one?And while we&#x27;re here why did Edward Norton let his career go down the toilet ?

Poolhall Junkies was a pretty good Gambling/Hustling Movie.

Ed Norton's career down the toilet? It's not like he's doing direct to DVD movies. Shit, he was just in the Hulk last year.

Edward Norton always took on such vivid and gripping roles in movies like: Primal Fear, American History X, Fight Club, and the Illusionist! Then he does $hit roles like: Death to Smoochy, Pride and Glory and the Hulk. I think his career is on the downslide but he is still a great actor.

My favorite movie about gambling is Maverick. Sure it isn't just about gambling but it plays an important role. Rounders is also towards the top.

I just saw The Hustler for the first time. I thought Newman, Gleason and George C Scott turned in awesome acting performances but the movie I thought was a bit of a downer. I did love Color of Money though.

Let it Ride and The Gambler (James Caan) are my favorite 2 gambling movies.

everytime a thread on this subject is posted no one mentions Robert Altman's California Split with George Segal and Elliot Gould. it's still one of the BEST "degenerate gambler" comedy-dramas EVER.

it's my second fav right after Let It Ride.

The Gambler is  #1 in my book. Also loved Let it ride. Hard  Eight is another pretty good movie about a pair of degenerate gamblers.

Rounders is a good gambling movie like Twilight is a good vampire flick.... It's how you tell the suckers at the poker table - they're all quoting Rounders.
