I knew that kid was up to no good. Strange ending.
Overall the last season was a head scratcher. I guess it was cool to glimpse into Nucky's beginnings. Overall I give the series a B-.
The last season a D. I mean they really put out a hack job.
Sooooooooo much more could have been done with the Luciano crew and the Chicago outfit. They just kind of didn't seem to care. But I suppose the show wasn't about them, so go figure.
It was a neat ride. Cool glimpse into our nations history and life in general. I have many similarities and can relate to Nucky in some ways. I know they all can't be happy endings but come on could've been better.

agree 100% on the last season being WAY weak.
the son of Jimmy Darmody, who was murdered by Thompson the end of season two, gunning down Nucky was fitting ending to the show BUT the real character that Nucky Thompson was based on, Enoch Lewis "Nucky" Johnson, was an Atlantic City political boss and racketeer who went to federal prison in 1941 but was paroled in 1945. he lived the rest of his life by all accounts legally and peaceably in Atlantic City until his death in 1968. most of the main characters were based on real "players" back during prohibition. check >>> https://www.sky.com/tv/show/boardwalk-empire/gallery/real-life-people and click on the picture for the character vs real person, some like the gangsters Capone, Luciano and Rothstein are obvoious. other not so much.
overall the series was excellent BUT looked like they "rushed to complete" the last season

I really didn t care for Nucky growing up part so this whole season so it was total waste of my time. I feel they didn t have to skip a decade from last season so they can finish up the season . Arnold Rothetein wasn t back because of that I guess they did one too many season.
