Saw it on pay-per-view. Surprised by the good reviews. I thought it    was boring and tedious. And Tom Hanks wailing away uncontrollably at the end ? Why ? Because he was rescued ? One of those movies I couldn't wait to end.

your review is kind of "suspicions confirmed". saw the trailers and though it was "over hyped". thanks for saving me a PPV charge

Reminds me of one of those movies that is suppose to be good but I just can't make myself watch it.

What are you talking about  Captain Phillips is a terrifically tense thriller and one of the best of 2013!

Maybe the abysmal Bad Grandpa is more you're speed

Gee, sorry I didn't enjoy the movie. I'll try harder next time.

Is " you're speed " some kind of Canadian dialect ?

I agree. It wasn't bad & it definitely wasn't great-but the reviews had me expecting a lot more. The film subject matter didn't interest me whatsoever.

Wasn't expecting much in this movie. The beginning dragged out but the last 45 minutes was intense. The amount of sh|t that Captain Phillips had to go through during his hostage was crazy. Hanks did a great job as usual capturing his character.

It was very very good.  The lead Pirate and Hanks did a great job, great acting all around.

Was way to long, could of been so much better then what it was. Just plain boring to me. Sad that its a true story, that's what made me rent it in the first place.

My closest neighbors [45 minutes away,by boat] say I do an incredible sobbing Tom Hanks imitation.

I thought it was great.  Easily tops the list of critically acclaimed films of 2013.

The version I watched for about half an hour didn't have subtitles when the black guys were talking.

That became too annoying and I turned it off.
