Slob, to me, it's like a Ford Mustang (first shown before you could even buy in Goldfinger). Which one is best? Your first? Your last?
As you can tell by my avatar, I'm extremely prejudiced in my favorite Bond. I first saw the original James Bond in You Only Live Twice, after seeing From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, and Thunderball on ABC as reruns, and I've been hooked ever since.
Roger Moore brought humor to James Bond, as The Saint on British TV, was made to order to step into the role. He came in with a bang w/Paul McCartney singing the title "Live and Let Die", and went out with Duran Duran on A View To A Kill. He went through some whacky eras during the 1970s and 80s, and was the longest tenured Bond, making 7 films I believe. He had Bond smoking cigars, and had some really nice gadgets from Q Branch. He is missed.
I loved Timothy Dalton the second I saw him in a directors chair, smoking a cigarette.....I thought he brought a meanness back to Bond after Moore.
We had to wait for Pierce Brosnan to get rid of his Remington Steele contract from television, and had the greatest intro as Bond IMHO

Things got a little too silly toward the end, but, it's still Bond.
Daniel Craig came along in a tremendous reboot of the franchise, including a black and white intro, The Aston Martin DB-5, and a kick*ss tune from Chris Cornell.
I gotta watch the AS game! Gotta go! More later.....
Watch 'em all. And then, take your pick

NO Dr No ??? THE FIRST EVER James Bond Film (1962) with the luscious Ursula Andress and (of course) Sean Connery. was followed by From Russia with Love (1963) , Goldfinger (1964) and Thunderball (1965) all with Connery. pretty much agree with The Hawk's assessment of Roger Moore although Live and Let Die (1973) is one of my all time Bond favorites with Clifton James as Sheriff J.W. Pepper. it is probably the funniest ever Bond film. ALL the "earlies" have been playing on EPIX channels recently.
DO you KNOW the title of the NEW Bond film ??? remember they did NOT kill off Christoph Waltz as Ernst Stavro Blofeld, Bond's arch enemy, in the most recent film Spectre (2015) so I suspect he will be back
