anyone else a little disappointed by the start of the season?

yeah, I don't think they needed to dedicate 2 episodes to the kids....we all knew that a serial killer raising kids as a single dad wasn't going to fly....I personally thought they'd explain it away right off the bat (kids are going to live with grandparents), without ever seeing them again

I dont think the first 2 episodes have been bad.

Everyone knew the first episode was going to deal with Rita being killed and the difficulties facing Dexter.

Then the 2nd episode is setting up for the rest of hte season. You find out his target for this season along with finding out the police department is looking for Kyle Butler and they have a composite sketch. Dexter is starting to slip and make himself vulnerable to being caught.

Have a great feeling about this season. Not sure they can top last season though.

You add absolutely nothing to every conversation/discussion.

You complain and bitch about everything but never come up with any reasoning or explanation of what you would have done differently or how you would have made it better.

What exactly did you expect in them to do in the first 2 episodes? Last season was the best season of the series and ended with the most important moment and event in the show. They can't just take one episode to tie up the lose ends of last season and move on. That would be amateur writing and a slap in the face to Dexter fans who expect a well written show instead of some piece of crap that is just thrown together for entertainment purposes.

I expect a series alot like the last 4 ....one that involves character development around someone we care about (or really DONT...more importantly...aka Trinity)....these 1st two episodes have absolutely sucked in comparison to the level of quality that you would want in this series....and I am certain...that everyone except someone with the brain capacity that you have...would agree

moreover this season is setting up very little IMO.....a season where a rival officer investigates Dexter....wait, no we saw that with Doakes (great season)....if they are already repeating plot lines, they the series is in decline.....hey I would love to be wrong long term here....b/c I truly enjoy this series....but again, these 1st two episode are the worst in the history of series....you know, kind of like your Os

and one final thing for you to suck on.......I don't get paid to suggest how this season could be better....(let's not let the irony of the fact that the guy who just weakly summarized the 1st two is criticizing me for my critique LMAO)......I get paid (some would say overpaid) to be an attorney....I watch this show for enjoyment...and expect that enjoyment and have yet to receive any from these 1st two episodes....do your job writers....you have some great actors in this series.....this economy is tough

It has only been two episodes so I cannot complain about the season.  I like the direction it is setting up to go in.  Dexter is continuing his downfall which started last season.  Last season he killed his first innocent person and now in the first episode of this season he does the same thing.  It is clear Dexter is losing control of his demons and needs to kill more than in previous seasons.  Yes they are sort of reusing a a plot line with the cops closing in on Dexter's tail but this time it is completely different than when Doakes was after him.  Doakes did not tell anybody he was investigating Dexter where as this season they have a composite sketch for all the cops to see and it will not be just Quinn going after him or looking into him.  And to add to that a relationship is forming between Debra and Quinn which will probably complicate things when Quinn begins to put the pieces together about Dexter.  Will Debra try and protect Dexter?  I think they have done a pretty good job setting up what is in store for this season and closing up last season's finale.  I would much rather have them handle the opening to this season the way they have, little action but good plot setup, instead of just jumping ahead and narrating that the kids are living with the grandparents.  It will be interesting to see how things unfold.  Will Dexter continue to unravel out of control or will he be able to catch himself and begin to realize the mistakes he has been making and the danger/shame he is putting on his family?

Yeah the first two episodes have been a little slow and I didnt think they needed to spend two episodes about the kids, but its still easily the best drama on tv.

episode 3 was pretty good and 4 looks pretty interesting, Dexter on the verge of getting exposed after he was caught killing the dead animal sanitation guy by that woman

I saw in the brief preview Quinn showing Trinity's son,Jonah a photo of Dexter but I don't see Jonah telling Quinn that Dexter is Kyle Butler

Yeah they got married a while back. Kind of creepy that the relationship started when they were playing brother and sister.

Of course its not as creepy as the mom and son on nip/tuck banging each other in real life.

Dexter could be 1/2 as good as it once was and it would still be better than pretty much everything else on tv.

I wouldnt call her hot, but "extremely unattractive" is a bit harsh.

Im pretty excited to see what happens with this series. Both Dexter and his target know about eachother and their intentions. Things should get pretty interesting.
