They will start filming in June a planned a pilot + 9 episodes mini series. Mostly british actors. Release in the spring of 2011.
Locals to film, Northern Ireland (Paint Hall studio) and on site in Scotland and Morocco. One of the places they film is at Doune Castle.
So what is Game of Thrones, well it is a fantasy series based on George RR Martins "Song of Ice and Fire" fantasy books.
Set in a fictitious world reminiscent of Medieval Europe in which magic exists and the seasons can last for many years, the Song of Ice and Fire series follows the violent dynastic struggles of an empire in turmoil. With the television series expected to follow the multiple storylines of the books closely,[37] author Martin has stated that the pilot script was very faithful to his work.[17]
