Has ANYONE seen this movie! It released on Sept. 15th 2006 and did a total business of like $140K. It was a trailer - Preview on the movie "Even Money" that I watched last night.
I just love the Cayman Islands and am a certified scuba diver! I have been to Cayman 14 times.
Would like to hear if you have seen this movie and what you thought of it?
Thanks!

so funny u mentioned that cause I just watched it on cable last week...i was scanning thru and saw this...was about to start, read the descrip and saw it had Bloom from LOTR..im like...huh?...was bored late nite so i watched it.
I'm also an avid advanced diver...been to the Isles quite a bit and saw a different side of Cayman that I never knew existed...being a diving tourist, you don't really see mush outside of the resort you stay in or on a boat.
The movie was pretty good...it deals with locals, partying, drug trade, locals scamming tourists, typical local thug life all wrapped around a "love" story of Bloom and a local hottie and the problems that come about with her family and thug brother.
interesting how the drug trade works down there....the exchange system they use to pass weed back and forth etc(chip/dorito bags)....how shady business men go down to hide money and the whole banking situation...they also discuss briefly the story of how the Isles became the shady Banking mecca it has become for so many ...

Retburj13 - So, I take that as a Yes - I should rent the movie if I can find it! I wonder why it was so overlooked in the box office and in movie rentals that I had never even heard of it until I rent and watch another unknown movie "Even Money" which wasn't that bad! I think people just expect too much from movies now and expect everyone to be like this huge blockbuster! It is just entertainment! A lot cheaper then going to a sporting event and we are willing to sit at those for 3 hours but if a movie lasts more then an hour and a half we get all worked up about it!
Where do you stay when you go to Cayman? We usually stay in a condo - our favorite is Tamarind Bay. Most of the units are lived in by locals, doctors, lawyers etc. Stayed at the Westin when it just opened for our Honeymoon in 1996. It was VERY NICE!

I've stayed at the Beach Club Colony Resort - Grand Cayman (kids like the amenities and i like the all-inclusive) and also have stayed at the condos at The Grandview
Also took a western Carib cruise there once as well...was nice but much rather stay there...on cruises u don't have the time to do all u want I like the proximity to all the things i like to do....dive and golf
did u enjoy Sting-ray city?

Yes I have been there a few times! Started going to cayman back in 1982 when I was 12 years old. Went a few times in my teens. Then went back in 1994 and again in 1996 for our honeymoon and have been every year since 1998-2007. It has changed a lot over the years but is still a great place to go! Love to dive and golf as well - wife loves to shop and the last 3 years we have brought our Twins who were 3 when we first brought them in 2004 and 5 this year on their 3rd trip in 2007. Also, my mom tagged along to help watch the girls. Still need to be able to go and hang out at the Royal Palms for some nighttime cocktails with the wife and sit out under the stars then stumble, stumble, crawl...crawl back to your condo on glorious 7 mile beach!
I have rented wave runners, scooters and cars. Gone parasailing, scuba diving, night diving, snorkeling. Done stingray city. Seen the blow holes and driven to rum point numerous times! Been into Georgetown shopping on more occasions then I care to remember! Been to HELL, golfed every course on the island multiple times.
Things I haven't done that I would like to:
1) Island hop to the other islands - Maybe someday!
2) Deep sea fishing - Wanted to this year but didn't!
Longest trip was 10 days which was Awesome! Shortest trip was 3 days which was a nice break (without our daughters) but not enough!

Yes - the Parasailing was really cool! Only other places I have dove was Jamaica and it was terrible! I will stick to Cayman - Plus my wife calls it her heaven on earth! She loves the locals too!
Besides having our honeymoon there in 1996 our twin daughters were conceived on 7 mile beach in 2001! They just turned 6! :)
She calls them our Cayman Twins!
check out www.caymanactivityguide.com if you haven't already for more information about Cayman! My wife is a moderator there. Pretty much just like www.covers.com but for people interested in the Caymans instead of gambling!
