Been waiting to get sucked into a new television show. Apparently this one has been getting some really good reviews. First season is staring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson as the leads.

first episode was ehhhhh. I guess i probably need to give it more than an episode to make judgement but i found it semi boring. Hopefully, that&#x27;s just because they are introducing everyone and setting the stage, etc. Didn&#x27;t really like how it was in flashbacks with woody talking to some feds in the future. I wasn&#x27;t hooked on the wire after an episode either so i never let one episode fool me

Yeah I liked it, wanted to like it more but there are just some annoying things which seemed forced and take away from the quality IMO.

The way they forced friction between the characters so quickly and easily was annoying, and how there are several staged plot lines laid out so obviously, well I didnt like that.

I didnt like how the one lead is anti social and extremist, how the other is likely sleeping around and friction with the wife..how the rest of the guys in the office are ragging on the one..

I'd rather not have so many friction points setup so obviously..

Favorite scene was the conversation between McConaughey and Harrelson in the car after leaving the scene.

"I think human consciousness is a tragic misstep in human evolution. We became too self aware, nature created an aspect of nature separate from itself. We are creatures that should not exist, by natural law. We are things that labor under the illusion of having a self, a secretion of sensory experience and feeling, programmed with total assurance that we are each somebody, when in fact everybody's nobody," Rust philosophizes. "I think the honorable thing for our species to do is deny our programming, stop reproducing, walk hand in hand into extinction, one last midnight, brothers and sisters opting out of a raw deal."

That right there will keep me watching this series

First episodes are like the first round of a boxing match.  Not much happens.  I always give shows 2 or 3 episodes but I thought it was wasn&#x27;t bad for episode 1.

I realllly hope Rustin Cohle isn&#x27;t the killer or I will be pissed.I feel that would be way too obvious, because a friend of mine who watched it said he got the same feeling.Slow episode, but I liked it...Especially the part where Woddy Harrelson was talking about all the types of people he has worked with. "the aggressive type, the friendly type, the do-it-by the book type."...Then the other cop asks him what type he is, and he says "I&#x27;m the regular type...with a huge d1ck"

Saw the first Sunday night but this looks like a BAD McConaughey movie and they are legion. I havn&#x27;t seen DallasBuyers Club but I&#x27;ve seen this bs in TwofortheMoney,MagicMike and everyother film where he is the overthetop scenery-biter. It&#x27;s still too soon from Breaking Bad to skate with another Sunday night drama.

Episodes are slow, methodical, so if you are a patient, logical person, you can see it&#x27;s going to be great. However, most people here are not patient and logical, so don&#x27;t bother watching it.

I love it. It is smart TV. You have to really listen to the characters statements for true development. It is also providing very subtle clues as to what is really happening around (hint: the scene in 1 where MM's character is talking to the new detectives and what he says about if he is staying, he needs to drink is a huge clue).

It will absolutely get better with each episode as it develops.
