hurt locker thoughts

just watched this the other night and was unsure if i like it or not...very highly thought of for oscars and stuff like that but not real action packed...at times i thought it was boring, at times it got my emotions going for how hard it must be for military and at times it had me on the edge of my seat and my heart racing..and i dont get like that for movies which i know are fake...

just wanted to hear what others thought about it

I was a Combat Engineer in Desert Storm.  I thought it was pretty authentic for a hollywood movie.

Solid movie. Great acting and it felt authentic. There were certain parts of the movie that are just plain fucking scary if you put yourself in their position. The part where the dude on the roof was being filmed by a "native" with a camcorder was . That was really creepy.

I liked the movie quite a bit, especially the sniper shootout seen!

very good movie....different than most movies

but no way best picture worthy

oscars turned themsevles into a joke this year nominating 10 movies

Let's put it this way...at one point during the movie my wife turned to me and said: "I don't think I've taken a breath for the last 10 minutes..."

And I agreed with her.

Not too many movies out there these days that can really capture your emotions like that. Definitely an eye-opener if it is, in fact, an authentic or "true" representation of what actually goes on over there on a daily basis.

Very good film. No B.S. No real big name actors, no fancy soundtrack.

I'd give it a 9 out of 10.


Disclaimer: I normally HATE critically acclaimed movies...so this was a pleasant surprise.

ONe of the best of the year, Definitely worth it's spot in best picture

Like Ranger I am very big on this. Also have 3 units on Bullock best actress but am mainly on Hurt Locker.
