Not a great movie,,,wait till it comes out on DVD. Some good special effects but the plot is terrible. They wasted this whole film it seems setting up for a sequel because you hardly see this character's mother through out the film then in the end she tells him she ran away from him and his father when the main character was 5 years old because she is a member of the group that their whole focus is to track down jumpers and eliminate them......but at age 5 he had never "jumped" yet so she couldn't have known that when she left.....hummm you'd think some one in continuity would have picked up on that. Any way looks like they set up the sequel for him to battle his mother.

When they meet up at the end of the movie, his mother said he made his first jump when he was 5 years old and that is why she needed to leave him and his father.
Kind of hard to advise people on whether or not to see a movie if you don't understand the whole thing or remember what happened.

I do remeber what happened and he tells us when his first jump was right at the begining and it was from the lake into the library which is at least 7 years after the age of 5. You really think if he had jumped at age 5 that he wouldn't remember that...another example of poor editing and error in continuity. Guess u slept through the first 90% of the movie then the Mom's idiot statement would make sense to someone not paying attention to the rest of the film cause it does't fit. Your the one who doesn't rember what happened. It amazes me that there are idiots who can go to a film and buy some ridiculous statement made by a character who is only in a few scenes in the film but the plot elements don't support the character's statement and the idiot viewer thinks, "ahh da yeah that's the way it happened" . Bet u still believe in Santa Claus and tooth fairy too cause mommy told u they were real.
You made an attempt to attack my recommendation which is wait till the movie comes out on DVD but you don't say any thing about if you like the movie or not or if you think others should go to the theater and waste their money....if your going to put your 2 cents in at least give the members of the forum you recommendation if they should pay theater admission...wait for DVD or if they should skip the film completely.

Movie was way more hyped than it should have been. Okay flick, but more of a wait and rent if you ask me.
WORLD, it is possible that he might have jumped when he was 5, how much of your life do you remember when you were 5? I might be wrong, but either way the movie did say 2 different times that he had made his first jump.

No, unotlikeme, it is not possible that he jumped (trasported) at age 5 because let me remind you of what it was like to be 5 years old. I had a Superman cape and believed that by wearing it I could fly so I climbed up on the garage roof and jumped off trying to fly. It hurt my feet and legs when I hit the ground but you know what...I just thought I had to concentrate or change my take off and everything would be fine so....I climbed up on the garage roof and jumped off 10 to 15 times before accepting that I wasn't going to fly that day (actually I did fly but just didn't land very well rflmao). If the main character in the film had jumped at age 5 he would have done it over and over again and he certainly would never have forgotten the incident. When you were 5 I am sure you had similar incidents in which you attempted things that were supernatural and if you had succeeded you never would have stopped doing them.
I do thank you for posting that it is a wait for the DVD film instead of a run to the theater movie and that is exactly the main thing I want any one to know who reads this topic...Don't waste your money going to the theater for this one!!!!!!!!!
