Respect for United States armed forces is a top priority for TV personality Montel Williams and he won’t give President Obama a free pass on it.
Williams unloaded on Donald Trump this week over his reckless
comments mocking Sen. John McCain for being captured and held as a POW
during McCain’s time of service.
His latest public scolding is directed at Obama for not ordering the federal flags to be flown at half mast in honor of five servicemen helplessly slaughtered by an Islamic extremist on Thursday in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
So, its now Monday evening. Did I miss an explanation
from this President as to why he hasn’t ordered the flag to half mast
after 5 service members and 1 police officer were assassinated by a
deranged terrorist in Chattanooga, Tennessee????? Serious question.
They were assassinated in cold blood right here in the United States
simply for wearing a uniform… By a terrorist… Does that not merit a
measure of solemn respect? Mr. President, lower the flag and stop making
servicemembers wonder what they are fighting for, please sir.

open letter sharing her outrage over the Obama administration’s anemic
reaction to the deadly shooting being linked to a potential Islamic
extremist. As the mother of three daughters currently serving in the
U.S. Marines, she was exceptionally distressed by the four Marines who
were among the dead following last week’s attack in Chattanooga, Tenn.
“I’m so angry I can hardly write,” she stated in the recent editorial. “I’m mad as hell, and I ain’t gonna take it anymore.”
Her anger, however, has been simmering since long before the recent
violence – specifically regarding procedures limiting the ability of
service members to carry weapons and the administration’s willingness to
welcome potential security threats into the country.
“I can’t even fathom what kind of stupid logic is behind a directive
which forces our military personnel to leave their weapons in a locked
arsenal on a military base,” she wrote “—while also forcing those same
military personnel to work side-by-side with people who are pretty
obviously going to be gunning for them at some point.”
Military locations, including recruiting centers like the one at the
scene of last week’s shooting, have been targeted by terrorists in the
past, she noted; yet military and government leaders have chosen to
retain a policy that ensures servicemen and women are unable to
adequately defend themselves.
“It’s obvious that no one at any level in the Pentagon is going to
demand our military personnel be given a fighting chance to survive in
the war zone that America has become,” she continued. “Even after Ft.
Hood, our Commander-in-Chief did not order this directive to be
rescinded.”
