This movie has been getting mixed reviews and frankly after watching it I can see why. It is at times very slow, can be hard to follow, confusing and at times boring. But despite that Phoenix&#x27;s gave a good performance. The relationship between him and Josephine was interesting. They definitely pained Napoleon as a self-absorbed loser. Truth is he might very well be but he was also a military mastermind and it is interesting the angles they went with this movie. If you find anything about the French Revolution, Napoleon or war drama interesting then this movie is for you. If you don&#x27;t then I would skip it all together.

Napolean was very complex, as well as being a Sicillian and not even French...basically a cuckold to the very amorous Josephine, a spendthrift with all the looted spoils, his biggest mistake was that Egyptian misadventure which wasted his soldiers lives and was a disgraceful blot on his military genius ( a genius which was enabled vastly by excellent officers) or so i understand
