New Season of Doctor Who on BBC America

the new season of Doctor Who is on BBC America with Matt Smith returning as "The Doctor". Jenna-Louise Coleman is VERY tasty as new "companion" Clara Oswald. first two episodes,  "The Bells of St Johns" and "The Rings of Akhaten" have already played BUT "The Rings..." repeats Thursday April 11th and  new episodes all air on Saturdays.

the new one is "OK" BUT the oldies, esp with Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker as the 3rd and 4th "regeneration" of the Doctor, were the BEST of all time. btw, it's ALL British. BBC America is just selected BBC programming shown in the US

Tom Baker with his googly eyes is about every "fan fav" in polls. "Jelly Baby?". I had the "hots" for Louise Jameson as "Leela of the Sevateem".

I'm hoping that BBC America continues with their "The Doctors Revisited" monthly series. already did the first and second Doctors, William Hartnell (1963-1966) and Patrick Troughton (1966-1969). next, hopefully this month, should be Jon Pertwee (1970-1974) followed by Tom Baker (the longest running Doctor 1974-1981) IF and WHEN they do Baker, they need to show his Genesis of the Daleks which was the #1 viewed Doctor Who serial of all time

thought Episode 3 was pretty good with the Doctor and Clara landing in a damaged Russian missile submarine in 1983 that has a thawed out Martian Ice Warrior running amok. first revival of the Ice Warriors, which go back the the 2nd Doctor in 1967, I have seen in years. nonstop suspense and action with excellent CGI. British actor David Warner, who was famous for playing villians in 1980's movies like Time Bandits and Tron, plays Russian scientist Professor Grisenko.

IF all this seasons Episodes are as good as this one, it will be a success.

Memorable finale which leads to 50th anniversary special.  Return of River Song and revealed secret of impossible girl Clara are among the highlights.  According to rumours, Hurt as a forgotten doctor replaces Eccleston who didn't want to return.  Smith and Coleman are expected back next season.

hope you are correct about Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman returning. Smith has become an all time fav Doctor of mine and Coleman is WAY HOT as "The Impossable Girl" Clara Oswin Oswald. I think she is one of the best "companions" ever along with Alex Kingston as River Song. need MORE River Song next season. John Hurt in any role would probably be an upgrade from Christopher Eccleston who I thought was very average as "The 9th Doctor" (1st of the modern series)
