BBC America is playing ALL the original first two season Star Trek episodes from 1966-67 Friday thru Sunday. they are a "must see" for fans esp old favorites (all times pacific)
Arena (where Kirk is forced to fight the "lizard creature") Friday September 9th @ 4:30pm,
Tomorrow Is Yesterday (where a 20th century fight pilot is beamed abord the Enterprise) Friday @ 5:40pm
Space Seed (introducing Ricardo Montalban as Khan) Friday @ 9:10pm,
Mirror, Mirror (where evil counterparts from a parallel universe take over the bodies of Kirk, Scott, McCoy and Uhura) Saturday the 10th @ 1:00pm
I, Mudd (one of many episodes featuring the rascal Harry Mudd) @ 5:40pm Saturday
Patterns of Force (where Kirk and the crew come upon a Nazi society on a planet) Sunday September 11th @ 11:50am
AND, of course, my personal favorite, The Trouble with Tribbles (once again featuring Harry Mudd) Sunday @ 11;30pm
unfortunately BBC is NOT doing 1968 as of yet which has probably THE most controversial episode from the original series Plato's Stepchildren which featured the first ever inter-racial kiss on Ameican TV between Kirk and Uhura
ENJOY!!!

"The Menagerie" was a two-part episode which incorporated scenes from the original Star Trek pilot "The Cage" filmed in 1965 with then Enterprise Captain Christopher Pike played by Jeffrey Hunter. Hunter dropped out of the series because he thought it would be a failure and hurt his career opening the door for William Shatner as Captian James T Kirk. Leonard Nimoy played Science Officer Spock in what was somewhat of a "bit part" in the original pilot episode
"Balance of Terror" the first ever episode with Romulans as the adversary. it featured Mark Lenard as the Romulan War Bird commander who later went on to a long Star Trek career playing Spock's Vulcan father, Ambassador Sarek in various episode in the original series, Star Trek: The Next Generation and four of the earlier Star Trek movies
BOTH are "must see" for Star Trek fans
