Delicious Journeys Through America for the Purpose of Making Heterosexual Males Visibly Uncomfortable in the Presence of a Gay Foreigner in a Mesh T-Shirt
Five out of Five Stars
Cohen has done something much more than make me laugh in a movie theater harder than I have in A LONG TIME… he has also produced a film which lives up to its FULL title. I watched (with frivolous glee) three people leaving the theater shaking their heads in disgust. THAT… is pure performance art. This film gets under the skin due to a true sociological genius who understands the hilarity in the some people’s self-righteous inability to separate themselves and their own reality from someone else’s. Cohen has accomplished an attack on homophobia which miraculously surpasses his previous successful Borat. Borat, was after all, a film which lucratively harassed the average American’s ignorance and blind subjection of “foreign” custom. For those of us who miss the likes of Andy Kaufman for his keenly targeted aim at average ignorance, we welcome Mr. Cohen with open arms. This is an ardent and radiant comedy with courage out the… well… you know!
