Even though it took me quite a long time to finally see this film, I knew very little about the plotline and I was, therefore, pleasantly surprised. This is more than a simple action/adventure type of film. It is evidently based on a graphic novel which I know little about so I could not attest to the films' justice (or lack thereof) to the work from which it is originated, but based on the motion picture alone, the story is quite well done with several delightful subplots and just enough complication to keep it interesting while never getting confusing. Furthermore, V for Vendetta contains plenty of those Orwellian negative-utopia political innuendoes to keep satisfied those of us who search for a bit of a deeper meaning in our big explosion action flicks. It could be legitimately argued, in fact, that we could all take a tutorial from this film about the dangers of propagandized paranoia in regards to terrorism and how that paranoia can often blind us to governmental agendas which may have ulterior motives. Sound familiar? This movie has style, good acting and an extraordinary story. I was entertained from beginning to end.
