I was pissed at the Versus thing, being a NHL fan, but am glad they got it fixed. I got a nice refund by complaining and they DO always answer my complaints.

I think part of the current "pissing contest" between Fox and Dish is because Rupert Murdock's New Corp owns the Fox Sports network AND is a major stakeholder in Direct-TV so I doubt you would ever have them fighting.

I just called Direct-TV and am moving from Dish to their service. I'm a HUGE NHL fan, esp the Pittsburgh Penguins, and CAN'T STAND this BULLSHIT. besides, with the 5 month intro price I'm getting, it PAYS for this years Center Ice subscription, their throwing in Sunday Ticket, AND even after the price goes back to "normal", I'm saving $25 a month over what I currently pay for Dish.

They dropped FX? Man, that's nuts.

I'm actually wondering IF I'm jumping out of the fryimg pan into the fire after waht happened today with the Direct-TV people. their customer service seems pretty incompetent. was supposed to get the installation today BUT because I mad a change from the original one HD DVR + two standard def receivers to one HD DVR + one HD receiver + one standard def receiver, htey CANCELLED my INSTALLATION without ADVISING ME.

when I tried to get the number of the installation contractor here in Las Vegas, NO ONE at Direct would PROVIDE that INFORMATION. means I will miss the Center Ice NHL hockey for this weekend AND the NFL games.

have since found out that there are a LOT of dissatisfied Direct customers. IF they fuck me around on monday, I will be forced to just stay with Dish OR go to Cox digital cable.

Dish also dropped MSG network here in the NY area so I can't see Rangers, Knicks, Devils and Islander games. I hate using the goverment for anything but we need their intervention in matters of this type. Now I here Cablevision will be taking down Fox channels as of Midnight Friday. What a joke.

OK, so I had Direct-TV installed Friday (they arrived unannounced @ 7:00 am ) and I have had NOTHING but PROBLEMS. every HD channel skips or pixelates constantly esp the sports channels. they came out today and installed a new box. SAME THING.

that plus they COMPLETELY MISREPRESENTED their SERVICE has me ready to blow them off and either go to cable OR back to Dish-TV. at least with Dish I had an tunner internal picture-in-picture (once you have had PIP, you can't be without it) and oodles of SiriusXM channels. the sales rep said "they had the MOST SiriusXM channels of anyone" and they out and out LIED. they don't even USE SiriusXM.

the tech that brought out a new HD-DVR today admitted they have been having quality problems with them. typical cheap Chinese SHIT made by 30 cent an hour wage slaves. whoever said that Dish-TV's tech was shit is FULL of SHIT. only time I ever had a reception problem with them was during a storm. with Direct, it's CONSTANT in clear air.

ONLY thing better with Direct-TV is their "Center Ice" HD programming. everything ELSE is either about the same OR of lesser quality AND their TECH SUCKS.

once this current pissing contest between Dish and Fox gets sraightened out, I'm going back to Dish. I can't stand this "skipping" on this Direc-TV HR24-200 HD DVR.

yes I got my Center Ice BUT it's UNWATCHABLE. and NO internal PIP means I'm missing half the action anyhow. Direct has a $400+ early disconnect fee BUT it's worth it to me to get a superior system back.

beside, I am pretty sure I can make a small claims court argument that they LIED about their system AND their HD DVR's are CRAP.

wish I had remembered that WHEN you make a DECISION when you are PISSED about someting, you will probably make the WRONG one.

well they finally settled the dispute in time for the Oct 30-31 sports weekend.

IF I can get a deal from Dish, I'm going back. Direc's tech SUCKS compared to theirs. NO receiver internal Picture-in-Picture is a deal killer for me. Direc's "Double Play" which they claim is "just like P-I-P" is NOT.

Oh, and I'm on my THIRD HR-24-200 "Skippy" HD-DVR. they are bringing out an older, supposidly "more reliable" mogel today AND removing their "multi-room" system which also hasn't worked AT ALL.

have to thank the El Sugundo office of the BBB for getting me out of the "cancellation fee" trap.
